Best Uses: Art

Primary use: Business

I got a handful of these markers over a year ago and I've been looking to get some more too add. Not only are they great quality markers, for the price they're a steal. If you've been wanting to try markers for a while, or wanted something closer to copic quality without paying the copic price, these are it! Really, really hope this brand sticks around for a bit longer because for what you get, it's worth it.

Works great on different papers but I recommend, if you like blending and effects, the Bee marker paper (which Jerry's also has on sale) or card stock/bristol board. Or for layouts and quick coloring some Canson marker paper.

I always feel a bit guilty digitally recreating traditional looks. I wonder how this would look if I actually drew it on on a yellow legal pad. Not as clean looking of course but I betcha it would have it's style.

I'm going to try and put effort into updating this blog a bit more frequently. Lets start now! *hurr hurr* I think changing this blog into a Tragically Unhip story progress blog will make me use it alot more. So lets see if I can put that effort into doing that.

I really do like the colored screentone concept here. I love black and white screentone art in general, so seeing it implied in color is interesting. Might go further into using in comics, which will be coming soon!

Can you hook a crackle up.

Whilst surfer the internets I ran into this image. At first like most you, I put it off as a Capt N Crunch knockoff. But the more I glared into it's ADD riddle eyes, it's "crackle" relapse, diabetic shock twitching tail, and it's sweet satisfaction "I sold my winter supply of nuts to get my fix" grin, I have new found appreciation for the name brand knockoffs of America.
And the fact that "CRACKLES" is written three times larger than "berry" and the "LES" of that word being less dominate. The fact that he's not only eating, but juggling crackle berries at the same time, a talent only shown at 3 am by college kids wondering if this stuff kicked in yet. And of course the promise of "quality crackle" just seals it.

God bless corporate America for letting kids get their daily dose of crackle when they can't afford the high quality stuff.
